College Football Transfer Portal Stories

I’m Addicted to Reading College Football Transfer Portal Stories

I’m obsessed.

I can’t stop reading stories about the college football transfer portal.

Lunch.
After work.
Before I go to bed.

Kansas State quarterback Will Howard gets welcomed to the brotherhood at Ohio State.

UCLA QB Dante Moore picks Oregon.

Huskie QB Mack follows Deboer to Alabama.

It’s 4:30 p.m. on a Friday. My wife just texted me. The pizza will be ready in ten minutes, and I should be leaving McDonald’s with my coffee.

But I’m reading a transfer story. And another one. And then another. The last three are on former UCLA quarterback Chase Artopoeus.

I found them myself and his story is riveting.

Never heard of him?

Most coaches hadn’t either.

I should be checking out the Universal Studio Hollywood website to know the best rides to go for my son’s milestone, sixteenth birthday in a few days.

Or thanking God for a good week…or calling my 89-year-old mom to see how she’s doing.

Going on a coffee date with my wife.

But I’m on On3.com’s website. It has a complete list — OMG! — of the transfer players coming and going for every Division I school for last year and this season. Big names. Backups.

I go to the 2023 transfers for UCLA.

Google names and click links.

Nick Barr-Mira
Hayden Harris
Chase Artopoeus.

How did the portal work out for ex-Bruins?

Was the grass greener at a new school?

Did UCLA head coach Chip Kelly maybe misjudge the talent of some players?
